Trade was fierce at this year’s Show and Sale of Blackface In-Lamb Aged Ewes and Gimmers with a full ringside of buyers as well as fury of online bidding via MartEye. 44 entries were catalogued and with 41 forward, 38 of them finding new homes. With a 93% clearance rate, the 38 heads sold to average £1572.24.

3rd – Lot 40 Midlock Glespin

4th – Lot 10 Crossflatt

5th – Lot 30 Lurg

 

Champion: Lot 24 (Gimmer) from Midlock Farms, Midlock

Reserve Champion: Lot 27 (Gimmer) from Midlock Farms, Midlock

 

 

Sale Report:

Leading trade at 4,100gns was the Pre-Sale Show’s Reserve Champion from Midlock Farms, Midlock, Crawford with their ‘Avenger’ sired Gimmer, who is a son of the £30,000 Crossflatt. Her dam’s is sired by ‘Stag’ – a son of the £8,000 Dyke. She sold to the judge, Robert Shaw, Acharonich carrying a single to the £18,000 Dyke.

Messrs R & N Barclay, Harestone, Insch were next at 3,500gns with their Gimmer entry sired by the £82,000 Loughash. She sells due Twins by the £48,000 Orchilmore to online buyer, Ewan Fraser, Balgowan, Newtonmore.

Topping the Aged Ewe trade at 3,400gns was Midlock Farms with their ‘Stag’ sired daughter (out of a son of the £8,000 Dyke) and her dam is by the £14,000 Dalchirla. Final bidder was FDA & D McVicar, Lephinchapel, Strachur where the ewe is due a single, also by the £18,000 Dyke.

Midlock Farms also received 3,200gns for their Pre-Sale Champion, a gimmer sired by Emperor (a homebred son of the £30,000 Crossflatt). Dam is by the £45,000 Nunnerie and sells due a single by the £18,000 Dyke. She also heads home with the judge, Robert Shaw, Acharonich.

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be NO sundry section within the sale and we reserve the right not to accept entries which we feel are unfit for the sale.

COMMISSION RATES
• Commission will be charged on all lots at 10% on FIRST £200 of any lot and 5% thereafter (e.g., Sold at £350 = £20+£7.50=£27.50), capped at £350 per lot. Minimum £5 per lot. • All purchases will be subject to a 3% plus VAT buyer's premium on all lots capped at £350 per item sold by auction or by private treaty.

ENTRY FEES
Tractors, Gators, Quads and Vehicle (To be sold online) £10 + VAT per lot DELIVERY OF ITEMS TO SALE YARD All Farm Machinery and Implements must be delivered to our saleyard by 3 pm on the day before the sale with the exception of Tractors, Vehicles and Quad which may arrive no later than 10.00am on the Thursday. Due to ongoing Health and Safety issues, there will be NO unloading facility available on Sale Day with loading permitted only after the conclusion of the sale.

ONLINE FACILITY
Tractor, Telehandlers, Gators, Quads and Vehicles will also be offered for sale through our online facility alongside the live sale via a drive through, any machine which cannot be driven through will be sold in the line with no online facility.

All items are sold as seen and will be conducted under the Lawrie & Symington and IAAS General Conditions of Sale which are available for inspection at our office.
