The opening show and sale of 2301 store lambs saw one of the best shows for quality sold through our ring for some time. Countless pens of quality Texel and Beltex lambs realizing between £130 and £150.
The sale topped at £153 twice for Beltex x from Messrs Steele, Cumberhead whose run of 320 lambs averaged £143. Also from Messrs MacDonald, Taldale, Caithness whose run of 200 averaged £128. Also held today show for Texel and Beltex lambs ably judged by Mr J Johnstone, West Montgarswood and sponsored by Agri-Lloyd. The champion pen awarded to Messrs T Linton, Firs which went on to realize £142. Reserve from Steele, Cumberhead made £148.
