On Monday 11th August Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 178 cattle comprising of 40 bullocks and heifers, 65 cast cows and 73 calves and stirks.
Limousin heifers sold to £2740 from Brockwoodlees Farm to Collins Butcher or to 445p/pk from the same home to Black Butchers.
Aberdeen Angus bullocks sold to £2879 from Hill Farm, Strathaven to Chapman Butchers or to 420p/pk from Balquharrage Farm to Elliot Butchers.
Beef cows sold to £2670 per head from Buteland Farm or to 364p/pk from Walston Mill Farm.
Dairy cows sold to £1840 per head from Westtown Farm or to 290p/pk from Newlands Farm.
Young bulls sold to £2900 per head from Strawfrank Farm or t o 380p/pk from Townfoot Farm.
Cast bulls sold to £2500 per head from Buteland Farm or to 240p/pk from the same home.

Calves sell to £1060 at Lanark
73 calves were sold at our fortnightly sale. Topping the sale at £1060 was a 3 month old Inra Cross heifer calf from Pirie, Machrihanish Farm.
Stirks topped at £1000 for an Aberdeen Angus cross heifer from Lawrie, Cuthhill Towers.

Sheep Primestock Report
Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 2688 Lambs and 1310 Cast Ewes through Lanark.
A much larger show of 2688 prime lambs were forward to the largest ring of prime sheep buyers north of the border as men return for the main season. All classes easily sol especially heavy well finished lambs. Leaner types best sold store on Fridays.
The sale topped at £230 per head and 434p/kg for a Texel from Dyet, East Merkland selling for charity to the cancer unit at the Beatson Hospital. Out with this to £205 for Texels from Graham, Craigdarroch Farm and 391p/kg for Beltex from Ingraston Farm.
