On Monday the 16th December Lawrie and Symington Ltd had forward 120 cattle comprising of 45 bullocks and heifers and 75 cast cows.
Limousin heifers sold to 365p/pk from Brockwoodlees Farm to Cairns Butchers or to £2460 from Mid Shawtonhill Farm to Black Butchers.
Limousin bullocks sold to 328p/pk from Hill Farm to JH Gilvear, Graystale or to £2230 from the same home to Black Butchers.
Beef cows sold to £2340 per head from Mid Shawtonhill Farm or to 261p/pk from Harelaw Farm.
Cast bulls sold to £1840 per head from Baillieshall Farm or to 191p/pk from West Torphin Farm.
Young bulls sold to £2188 per head from Auchenhard Farm or to 295p/pk from the same home.

Lambs
A larger show of lambs saw trade remaining strong in all classes and more could easily have been sold. Heavy weights coming to most money. Lambs will be needed again next Monday, 23rd December.
The sale topped at £198 per head for Texels from Over Kypeside Farm and to 353p/kg for Beltex from Cumberhead Farm.
