A tremendous run of 55 calves and stirks forward for Lawrie and Symington’s first April sale. A packed ringside of buyers ensured a good trade throughout. The sale was topped by a 5 month old Hereford Steer from Messrs D Laird, Murrays Farm, Pathhead.
On milk calves topped at £520 for an exceptional 2 and a half month old British Blue bull calf from Messrs J Adamson, Swaites Farm, Lanark.
Off milk calves topped at £555 for a 4 and a half month old Limousin x steer from Messrs J Bryson & Son, Dykehead Farm, Lesmahagow.

On Monday the 1st April 2024 Lawrie and Symington Ltd sold 3162 Hoggs, 1176 Cast Ewes and 288 store sheep through Lanark.
Hoggs
The 3162 prime hoggs were a better show for flesh today but sill with a lot of smaller store types throughout. Best flesh in all weight ranges sharper. More good fed hoggs required.
The sale topped at £270 per Texel from Messers A Campbell, Strawfrank, Lanark and to 542p/kg for Beltex from Mr A Baillie, Broomfield Lodge, Larkhall.
