Select Seven: Sale of In-Lamb Texel Gimmers and Empty Ewe Lambs
20,00gns was the top call of the day for Auldhouseburn’s No. 1 gimmer from Hugh & Alan Blackwood. The only one offered sired by the 350,000gns Sportsmans Double Diamond, and out of the 17,000gns Garngour dam, she sold to Messrs Barclay, Harestone, Insch said to be due Twins to the 20,000gns Mellor Vale Hercules.
Another from Auldhouseburn was their number three gimmer by the 130,000gns Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi. Out of the 9,000gns Corbo dam, she is also due twins to Mellor Vale Hercules. She now joins the Saltcoates flock with James Porter in Cumbria.
Making it a top three price hattrick for Auldhouseburn was their second gimmer, also by Fan Dabi Dozi, and out of a homebred dam by Double Diamond. Due a single to the 8,000gns Milnbank High Voltage, she heads to join the Sunart flock owned by Kirsty Cameron, Gorebridge.
Topping the Ewe Lamb trade twice at 3,000gns was Donald and Ross MacPherson, Hexel flock with sisters by the £120,000 Strathbogie Gladiator and out of a homebred daughter sired by the Procters Chumba Wumba. The first sold to Gordon & David Gray, Ettrick flock at Selkirk and followed by the second selling to Willie & Ewan Bennie, Merkins, Gartocharn.
